Sky High Ball Success!
12 Nov 2018
The sixth annual Sky High Ball took place on Friday 9th November and was a glamorous evening of celebration and fundraising.
Our host and wonderful Patron, Ant Anstead did a brilliant job of encouraging everyone to dig deep and created a fun and exciting atmosphere, with a little cheekiness thrown in for good measure! He travelled down that evening from Birmingham where he'd been hosting the Classic Car Show and travelled back up late that night after our Ball. That's commitment for you! Thank you Ant!
We were delighted to be joined by many well-known faces from stage and screen including; Debbie Arnold, Bob Barratt, Alex Best, Alfie Best, Christina El Moussa Vicky Michelle, Lewis Moody, Nicki Shields, Dr Ranj Singh, Harriet Thorpe, and our new Ambassador, Theo Michaels! It's always great to see our guests dancing the night away long after dinner and our celebrity friends definitely enjoyed themselves!
Our guests were treated to a stunning performance by Singer/Songwriter Talia Janson - she sang a beautiful version of 'I'll Never Love Again' and was accompanied by our favourite pianist, Michael G Moore. Michael also took requests throughout the evening and played everything from Lionel Ritchie classics to a unique version of a Prodigy track!
Alex Smith, our CEO and Harrison's Daddy, gave a moving an inspiring speech explaining how Harrison is doing and how Duchenne is affecting him now. It was testament to how engaged the audience was that the whole room was absolutely silent whilst Alex spoke. And furthermore, they showed their support through generously bidding in the silent and live auctions. Our auctioneer, James Freedman, did a brilliant job of maximising the bids on fabulous prizes including a tennis game and tour of Wimbledon with Andrew Castle and a signed George Best Man U shirt.
We have so far raised a whopping £57,000 with further donations expected in the coming days .
Huge thanks to everyone who attended, donated prizes, spread the word about Harrison's Fund on the night and who have offered their continued support going forwards.
