Update 1 - Dan Nathan Conquers Paris Marathon for Harrison’s Fund

We’re thrilled to share an exciting update in our Fundraiser Stories series — Dan Nathan, who is running three marathons in 2025 in support of Harrison’s Fund, has officially completed his first major milestone: the Paris Marathon, which took place on Sunday, 13th April.

Dan crossed the finish line with sore legs and a huge heart, carrying the cause of Harrison’s Fund every step of the way. His fundraising challenge — which includes the Stockholm Marathon in June and the Nice–Cannes Marathon later this year — aims to raise awareness and vital funds for families living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

"Paris Marathon — what a day,” Dan shared on Instagram. “Thanks to all those who have sponsored me for my fundraising for @harrisonsfund. Next up is Stockholm Marathon and then Nice–Cannes. Sore legs today but that’s the point!

More Than Just a Run

Running a marathon is no small feat, but Dan’s determination comes from a deeply personal place. Inspired by meeting filmmaker Nick Taussig — whose two sons are both living with DMD — Dan set out to do something that would genuinely make a difference. Harrison’s Fund is the first UK charity to focus on the mental health needs of families affected by Duchenne, and thanks to fundraisers like Dan, we're able to continue growing our impact.

Team Effort at the 41K Mark

Dan didn’t do it alone. As the finish line neared, he found support in the people around him — quite literally.

Thanks to @miarolfnathan, @mimmimusiala, and @pernillabrochier for getting me over the line at 41k… it wasn’t a pretty sight 😂.

And behind every strong runner is a great coach. Dan gave a heartfelt shout-out to Marcus from @parispersonaltrainer:

A massive shout out to Marcus, who I’ve trained with once a week for the last 8 months. A fellow Londoner and Gooner — someone I’ve come to love and hate 😂.”

And of course, every runner needs their steady sidekick.

Thanks also to David B, my running sidekick who can’t be tagged on Instagram but definitely deserves a mention.”

Looking Ahead

Dan has shown grit, humour, and a huge amount of heart in this challenge, and we couldn’t be more proud to have him in the Harrison’s Fund family. With the Paris Marathon behind him, he’s now setting his sights on Stockholm — and we’ll be right here cheering him on every mile of the way.

Keep an eye out for the next update as Dan continues his marathon mission across Europe.
